Depending on the corrections needed, rhinoplasty can be performed in an “open” or “closed” technique. The open procedure involves incisions along the columella, which allows the plastic surgeon better access to nasal structures. Closed procedures are performed on the inside of the nostrils and are better for hiding surgical marks.
