When you come in for your resurfacing treatment, the staff will first cover any sensitive areas like the eyes and skin that surround the treatment area. The laser is passed over the skin, sending out brief pulses of laser energy to destroy thin layers of the skin.

Recovery Time and Aftercare

The procedure is generally performed as an outpatient procedure with a topical numbing agent. Because the results are so profound, the treatments tend to take a bit longer and do require more recovery time than less ablative lasers. Ablative lasers require approximately four to six weeks of initial healing.
