Laser Treatment of Vascular Lesions

Our office utilizes BBL which produces an intense but gentle burst of light. This light is absorbed by the unwanted lesion and causes selective heating of certain cells. Lesions most commonly fade slowly over time as the destroyed cells are eliminated by normal body processes. Depending on the type, age, and color of the lesion, multiple treatments may be necessary for the optimal results.
Recovery
When you come see us for treatment of vascular lesions, you'll be pleased to find that there is no significant downtime, if any. In most cases, the lesion will temporarily darken in response to the laser. Patients may apply makeup directly to the lesion after the procedure if necessary, but in many cases the lesion is completely addressed without darkening.
