Woman of the Year

2019 Awardee: Nicki

Nicki was nominated by her mother who highlighted the fantastic work she is doing in our community! Nicki is actively involved in a multitude of community projects and boards and was named Asheboro-Randolph Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year for all of 2018 and received the award in January of 2019!

Nicki serves on the Board of Directors for the Randolph Community College Foundation. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Randolph Asheboro Chamber of Commerce and is the Chairman of their No Tie Affair Event. Nicki also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Randolph Asheboro YMCA and additionally serves on a Ladies Committee for the YMCA. This committee plans an Dinner & Dance each year to raise additional funds children’s scholarships, updates to the building, and senior activities during the day at the YMCA. Nicki is also involved with the Randolph County Partnership for Children for which she is actively preparing for their annual gala and silent auction.

In addition to leading in the above roles, Nicki is an active participant and attendee in fundraisers and community events throughout the year. During the holidays she participated with Communities in Schools for their Tacky Christmas Sweater Party which raises money for a program, Backpack Pals. This program sends backpacks home every weekend with non-perishable foods for children who would not get to have a meal after leaving school on Friday. Nicki was also chosen to be a local dancer in Dancing with the Stars for Randolph Community College and raised over $129,540 for college students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend college after high school. Plus, the list continues from Fish Fry Fundraisers to Fashion Shows, this incredible woman never stops!

In addition to her work in the community, Nicki also owns McKenzie Properties and Investments where she does property management for commercial and residential properties and manages HOA’s. She also buys, sells, and flips properties in our area.

She also has three beautiful girls and an amazing husband and says she is so blessed to be their mom and wife! Her girls are 11 years old, 13.5 months old, and 6 weeks old! WOW!
