Your personal consultation is done well in advance of surgery
Your personal consultation is an opportunity to get answered any and all questions you may have about your breast augmentation surgery. When you’ve made the big decision to move forward with the procedure, it is scheduled several weeks or more in advance. You will be provided with detailed pre and postoperative care guidelines so you can begin thinking with them.
Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure
The surgery itself is performed under general anesthesia and is done as an outpatient procedure. This means that unless you elect to stay overnight, and unless something arises that makes it medically necessary for you to do so, you would return home about two hours after the procedure is done, to spend the night at home. Complications are rare and a vast majority of patients should be able to return home for the night.
The breast augmentation procedure takes 1 to 2 hours
On the day of your surgery, you will arrive shortly before the procedure and get comfortable. You will change into a surgical gown and be connected to IV fluids, as you would be in any surgical procedure. Our team is extremely well acquainted with everything that will or could occur throughout the procedure. You are in very good hands and our team will remain in good communication with you throughout. You are free to answer any and all questions or voice your concerns at any point and it’s best that you do so.
The surgery itself takes from one to two hours. As you will be sedated under general anesthesia, time won’t be much of a concern to you. When the procedure is done and the anesthesia wears off, you’ll come to and be that much closer to actually reaching your goals for the procedure.
After a relatively brief recovery period, we trust you will find you are that much closer to the body of your dreams. And that the physical improvements quickly translate to psychological improvements as well, with increased personal confidence and self-esteem.
Patients are typically discharged to return home within 2 hours
Following the breast augmentation surgery, you’ll spend an hour or two in recovery. During this time, we run a handful of checks to ensure that all is well and that healing has begun. Because the sedatives have worn off, you will begin to feel soreness, which in this case is a sure sign that things are progressing as they should be.
Expect to be at the office from 4 to 6 hours
While the surgical procedure itself requires just an hour or two, it’s best to plan for a stay of 4 to 6 hours, with some time before the surgery dedicated to getting ready, and sometime after it dedicated to beginning the process of recovery. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a personal consultation, please contact our office at (704) 930-0428 or through our online contact form.
