You’ve worked hard to lose weight and to improve your muscle tone through diet and exercise programs. But when you have reached your desired weight but not your desired shape, it may be time to consider a tummy tuck. Tummy tuck surgery, or abdominoplasty, will assist in restoring that youthful-looking firmness and eventually have you rushing to get back into that bikini you’ve been avoiding for years. But before that happens, here are a few things to know regarding the recovery process.
Most tummy tuck surgery patients require around two weeks of recovery time before they return to work and/or drive a car. If your work requires strong physical activity, three to four weeks of recovery time may be more optimal for such circumstances. Light exercise may be resumed after six weeks’ rest, and basic chores around the house should be fine within three weeks post-op.
It’s important to remember that every patient will experience something different. If you feel great sooner than expected, stay cautious and try not to overdo it.
