CAROL TYNER, RN, BSN, CPSN
Practice Director, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER
Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, Carol graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Finding that she loved caring for patients who were going through positive, life changing experiences, Carol quickly found a home in plastic surgery. After several years of working directly with patients in the clinical setting, Carol transitioned from direct patient care to overseeing all details of the company and now serves as the Practice Director, ensuring each patient’s experience is exceptional. Carol’s true passion is Criswell & Criswell’s dedication to each patient’s safety, quality of care and exceptional results. Because of Carol’s incredible attention to detail, she is well suited as our surgery center’s Quality Control Officer, making sure our facility maintains the highest standards.
Patient Care Coordinators
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR
Darla is our fabulous Patient Care Coordinator and helps guide our patients through their entire experience with us. A native Carolinian, Darla has been in the aesthetic field for more than 15 years. Her warmth and friendliness are immediately apparent the first time you talk to her. “I want our patients to feel at ease from our first conversation and know that I am here for them, for any of their questions or concerns.” Her passion is helping patients throughout the entire surgical experience. “It is so rewarding to see a patient after surgery regain their confidence, and in seeing the excitement in their eyes as they get that ‘spark’ back…it’s an amazing feeling!” Whether it’s for a spa treatment, an injectable appointment, or the surgery you’ve always wanted, Darla will be your advocate, helping you achieve your aesthetic goals.
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR
Patty helps coordinate the surgical experience for many of our cosmetic patients. “I love working with patients and helping them feel comfortable, from the beginning of the process through their recovery.” Patients immediately feel at ease with her because she is attentive, caring and thorough. Understanding that each patient is unique, Patty is dedicated to providing them a special, personalized experience. Patty possesses a genuine understanding of art and beauty, and this combined with her background in client relations has prepared her well for providing the concierge-level care she provide our patients.
ALYSSA FITZ, RN
Originally from Minnesota, Alyssa received her Nursing degree before moving to the Charlotte area. Knowing her passion has always been to help others to reach their personal goals, joining the plastic surgery field was the perfect fit. Alyssa’s easy going personality and excellent nursing skill makes patients feel comfortable from the first consultation to last post-operative appointment.
LAUREN MARSHALL, BSN, RN
Originally from New York, Lauren graduated from East Carolina University, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Knowing that she wanted to become a nurse at a young age , Lauren quickly found her place in surgical nursing. She enjoys being by the patient’s side from the beginning until the end of surgery. Her true passion is caring for patients after surgery. You will often find her in our surgery center and recovery suite.
JENNIFER COX, CST
CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST, INFECTION CONTROL OFFICER
Jennifer grew up Indian Land, SC, and received her Surgical Technology Certification after working in the operating room at Novant Presbyterian facilities. She has been our surgery technologist since we opened, and also serves as our Infection Control Officer. Just as comfortable in the OR as out, Jennifer will often be there to help our patients with routine visits, office procedures, and postoperative appointments. Her genuineness and professionalism are two of many reasons our patients, staff and surgeons love Jen.
ASHLEY SMITH, CMA
A true Charlottean, Ashley was born and raised in Charlotte. With multiple years of experience in the medical field as a CMA, Ashley always makes patients feel at home in our office with her outgoing personality and warm smile.
Licensed Esthetician & Laser Technologist
Melissa grew up in Long Island, NY and moved to Charlotte in 1999. She is a Licensed Esthetician in both North and South Carolina and has a true passion for the skincare industry. Melissa has had extensive training and experience and possesses outstanding knowledge of facial laser procedures. She specializes in a results oriented approach and loves to work on her clients short and long term goals. Melissa truly cares about her clients in helping them achieve results and to look and feel their very best.
SURGERY SCHEDULER, INSURANCE COORDINATOR, ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Lisa is our Insurance Coordinator and helps run the Front Office in Ballantyne. She works closely on behalf of our insurance patients to ensure that they have everything they need going into surgery. Her job in scheduling our patients’ surgeries includes coordinating schedules of the patient, our surgeons, the hospital, and other surgeons involved in the case.
KAILYN SMITH, Front Office Associate
Born and raised in the Charlotte area, Kailyn loves everything this growing city has to offer. As a true people person, Kailyn’s favorite part about being in customer service is the opportunity to become acquainted with so many interesting people and being there to give laughter and care to those who need it. She knew finding a place that makes people feel beautiful and cares so deeply for them, was the most important thing. When she found Criswell & Criswell she knew it was exactly where she needed to be. With a back ground in Customer Service, Kailyn’s goal is to ensure patients have a wonderful experience, beginning with their initial phone call. She takes pride in making patients feel welcome and comfortable.
EMILY MCGANN, Front Office Administrator
Emily recently moved to Charlotte from Maryland, and is enjoying the city and all that Charlotte has to offer. Our patients and the quality of their experience are highly important to her. The exceptional atmosphere and level of professionalism at Criswell and Criswell is something that Emily values for both the patients and herself. Her goal is to ensure that she adds to the quality of care for each and every patient. On a personal note, she loves yoga and her dog!
VICTOR CRISWELL, Business Manager
Victor is our Business and Practice Manager and has been with Criswell & Criswell Plastic Surgery since before it opened in 2008. He formerly worked for a large corporation that stressed excellent client service and sound business practices. He brings valuable experience in personnel, facilities and financial management.
