Laser Skin Resurfacing
The Erbium Yag laser can be used to create a controlled burn of the most superficial layers of skin, and achieve a dramatic result in the improvement of skin tone and texture. Also known as a laser peel, these controlled ablative lasers have the ability to diminish wrinkles, acne scars, and other surface irregularities.
The Laser can also be used to treat the entire face, or in the combination with face-lift procedures to produce a comprehensive rejuvenation. The control and precision of the laser can allow our clinical staff to target delicate areas, such as around the lips and eyes. Laser skin resurfacing is a great option for people with significant skin damage from skin exposure, past smoking, or normal aging.
The procedure is generally performed as an outpatient procedure with a topical numbing agent. Because the results are so profound, the treatments tend to take a bit longer and do require more recovery time than less ablative lasers.
Ablative lasers do require approximately four to six weeks of initial healing. Most skin types require a minimum of three treatments for maximum results. In addition, please be sure to avoid long durations of sun exposure after treatment.
