Chin Augmentation or Reduction (Mentoplasty)

Many of our patients are dissatisfied with the appearance of their chin. Whether it projects a little too much, or is not pronounced enough, mentoplasty can improve the shape and size of your chin.

For augmentation, either a chin implant or actual reshaping of the bone can be performed. When evaluating the face, all proportions of the facial features must be evaluated, taking into account the relative size and shape of the nose and the chin.

A large nose may be made to appear even larger with an under projected chin. For this reason, rhinoplasty and chin surgery are sometimes performed together to achieve a well balanced and natural facial appearance.
